Dysphonia
Dysphonia Types:
When there’s nothing physically wrong, sometimes vocal cords aren’t being used properly.
Sometimes there are physical issues, like vocal cord nodules, polyps, or inflammation.
Nerve or brain disorders, like Parkinson’s, can make it hard for the voice to work properly.
Hogan Speech Pathology, in collaboration with your physician, will do a thorough assessment and then develop a treatment plan. We can recommend hygiene tips, vocal exercises, and/or guidance for stress management. When physical issues are involved, we always direct the patient to a physician, and collaborate with him or her.
